Self-Employed Car Finance NZ
No payslip. Still options.
Contractors, tradies, sole traders, company owners. Panel lenders read bank statements and accounts, not just payslips, and some price vehicles for work use differently.
Finance that reads real income
Bank lending is built around the fortnightly payslip. Self-employed income is lumpy, seasonal and real, and the right lender knows how to read it.

Questions? We've got answers
What documents will I need?
Typically three to six months of bank statements, and for larger amounts, financial statements or your IR income summary. Fresh in business? Some lenders work with less history at a sharper rate, and your adviser will tell you which door your situation opens.
How long do I need to have been trading?
More history means more options: two years of accounts opens most of the panel, while six months of solid bank statements still opens some of it. The honest version of "it depends", with your actual options laid out, is exactly what the rate check is for.
Should the loan go in my name or the company's?
It changes the lending rules that apply, the paperwork and sometimes the tax treatment. Your adviser will explain the lending side in plain English; for the tax side, your accountant is the right person, and we will not pretend otherwise.
